Rezumat

The article available to readers and specialists refers to the year 1912 in Bessarabia, with a special emphasis on marking the centenary of Bessarabia’s inclusion in the Russian Empire. It is not a new topic, the problem being addressed by specialists, only that in our case an approach to the problem is attempted from a spiritual point of view, focusing attention on the place and role played by the Orthodox Church and its leadership in the event. The factors that imposed that generated this initiative are discussed on the one hand, and on the other the role played by Bishop Serafim Ciceagov in this propaganda act, as well as the conditions that influenced it. It is obvious that a number of other issues were not overlooked, such as the direct development of the demonstration, the causes that required placing the confessional element in the foreground compared to the political one, the ideological message brought by the hierarchs of the Ortdox Church in Bessarabia and the expected result as well as the impact it had for the entire Pruto-Dniester area.
