Rezumat

The work of art is the result of a complex process, through which the creator trains his entire personality, intelligence, culture and experience. At the same time, however, the work of art largely reflects the moral values of the creator or of the historical epoch in which he lives. In the present paper, we discuss the issue of moral influence, which art, through its various manifestations, can have on the individual. One of the most obvious concerns of theorists in this field is the need to solve an old dilemma: contact with works of art has the power to affect us morally - to positively shape our behavior or on the contrary, through many of its forms, art can corrupt morally? This question admits many interpretations, depending on how broad the class of works of art in question is specified: the question could be asked about the causal powers of art in general, of good (/bad) art, of art that presents a certain content (most often sexual or violent) or manifesting certain attitudes. Contemporary art addresses unique aspects: distortion, absurd forms and denial of meaning, all simply justified by the real diversity of our world. In recent decades we have also been confronted with the idea that any existential fact, any event in life, can become art. Even so, the conclusion of the paper presented here, leads us to the idea that art is fundamentally good and subordinated to the good, by bringing transformation, evolution and optimization of the individual, and the ways of this approach are multiple and will always be debatable.
