With the death of Stalin, in the Soviet republics start a sharp rise of requests to open long ago closed churches. Th is phenomenon was related to religious enthusiasm, revival tendency, interest in religion. Religious policy of the Soviet state to the faithful of Moldova has become a „new political context.” Moldovan of church representatives’ reaction was immediate. Moldovan party organs begin a counteroff ensive on the whole „anti-religious front” but, however, although some of the population was forced to abandon the faith, the belief in God survived the ordeal communist. |
