The first part of the article includes a description of the preliminary theoretical framework and an analysis of the perspectives on deixis in linguistics, presenting a synthesis of ways deictics are identified in relevant literature. It continues with an attempt to establish the set of parameters which define deictics, according to which they are distinguished from other class units of language, and finally the criteria for identifying deictics are described. We emphasize that the main goal of this article is not to bring new facts in the debate of this question, but to synthesize and systematize contemporary perspectives on deixis.
