Background. The odontogenic keratocyst is a developmental cyst located in the oro-maxillo-facial region. It is diagnosed late due to asymptomatic manifestations. The high recurrence rate and morphopathological features can cause severe complications. Objective of the study. Early diagnosis of keratocyst and study of postoperative evolution. Material and Methods. The patient, RA, M. ageing 32 years old went to the "Omnident" clinic for dental treatment. On radiological investigation of the patient, a cystic formation located at the level of the mandible on the right was found. At CBCT, the limits of opposite the surrounding anatomical formations were identified. Results. The cystectomy operation was performed by creating a retromolar approach. Histological identification after surgery confirmed the preoperative diagnosis. The postoperative period was typical. Complications were not determined on post-treatment period. Conclusion. Early diagnosis of odontogenic keratocyst followed by cystectomy results in a morphofunctional rehabilitation without complications. |
