Actuality. The protecion of child, family and motherhood by state and society in Moldova, constitute political, social and economical issue of a paramount importance. Every child has the right to live in wellness and to have a perfect health having free access to health and protective services. What refers to the state of health and wellness of children we can speak about the way they are fed, quality of food and the access to care and health services, as well as social security and the level of life of this category of children. Improving the situation of children in republic of Moldova, of those ones who are affected by the parents’migration is a paramount problem that needs interdisciplinarian actions at all the levels: local, national and regional authorities, where each plays its own personal role in growth of the quality of childrens’ lives. The aims of the study. The aim of the study was toelucidate the peculiarities of medical and social state of children of migrants through the prizm of phenomenon of parental work migration. Material and methods. There was a study held on a case-control sample of 330 of cases, that included 165 of children, marked by parental work migration – grup 1 (basic) and 165 of children with parents who did not migrate for work – grup 2 (control), who were selected according to the principle where both parents during the last 12 months had not left republic of Moldova with the aim of work migration. These cases were evaluated with the help of the following instruments: 1) Questionnaire for the child marked by parental workforce migration; 2) Qustionnaire for parent/tutor of the child marked by parents workforce migration; 3) Questionnaire for the parent of the child with no experience of parental workforce migration. The results. The medium age of children included in the study was 10,7 years, from 6 months to 18 years limits. Desintegrated families were distincted in 44,8 % of cases (95 % CI 3,87 % - 52,4 %) group I, in relation to 10,9 % of cases (95 % CI 2,43 % - 15,7 %) of the children from group 2. The majority of children from group I - 66,1 % (95 % CI 3,69 % -73,3 %) confirmed that they did not have necessary financial resources to access medical services, the fac that constitutes the weight of 5,5 times more versus the weight of children from group 2- 12,1 % (95 % CI 2,54 % - 17,1 %). Children from group 1 mentioned that in 54,6 % (95 % CI 3,86 % - 63,9 %) cases their main source for accessing medical services were their parents’ remittances; 23,6 % (95 % CI 3,31 % - 30,1 %) had noted that they benefited from the tutor’s money, but the fifth part of migrants’ children had specified that they use financial sources earned from their own work - 20,0 % (95 % CI 3,14 % - 26,5 %). A considerable quota of migrants’ children can afford only the purchase of the most necessary medications - 27,2 % (95 % CI 3,47 % - 34,1 %), something that constitutes about the third from the total number of group 1. The differences comparing the groups have proved to be of a statistical significance (χ2=101,4; df=7; p<0,0005). The majority of migrants’ children - 52,7% (95 % CI 3,89 % - 60,3 %) usually use about 101-500 lei per year to purchase the medications. At the same time in 10,3 % (95 % CI 2,37 % - 14,9 %) cases there were mentioned the sums even lower than 100 lei, that are used to purchase the medications, a miserable and uncapable sum to buy medications that are necessary in case of an illness. Conclusions. Migration is one of the most acute problems that republic of Moldova faces. Deprivation from parent care, especially at a fragile age, is considered to be the risk factor for the health state of children. In most cases parents’ leaving is followed by a radical change of environment and conditions of life of children left in the country. The remittances sent by parents can not immediately and promptly modify the financial situation in the families of migrants’ children. The diminished level of expences aimed on the purchase of medications is determined both by the limited financial possibility in families with migrants and by the fact that this category of patients is mostly prescribed the medications provided by National Medical Insurance Companyor of a lower price. The lack of necessary medication, taken promptly and in an optimal volume can contribute for development to aggravate or provoke chronicization of deseases at children. |
