| Rezumat | ||||||
This study will examine some aspects of the complex process of sovietization that followed in Bessarabia after the occupation of this area by the Soviet Union in 1940, and 1944. The text deals with the formation of the state and party apparatus in the newly-formed Moldovan Soviet Socialist Republic. We examine, in particular, how the new “local” political elites emerged, the role played by the state-controlled trade-unions, the formation of the youth organizations specific for the stalinist totalitarian regime, etc. |
