Rezumat

The article provides a general description of the CORINE Global Land Cover service, a comparison of the CORINE Global Land Cover classes with ecosystem types according to the MAES classifi cation. The results of the pilot use of the CORINE Global Land Cover to determine the types of ecosystems and their mapping for the Uzh River basin (Transcarpathia) are presented. The relevance of the study is determined by the lack of a digital map of ecosystems for the territory of Ukraine and an up-to-date map of landscapes at the national level. Ecosystem mapping is becoming increasingly important in connection with the launch of measures to restore damaged ecosystems, as well as the introduction of an ecosystem approach that involves the assessment of ecosystems and their services.
