Rezumat | ||||||
The traditional diesel engine can be modified as it can run on diesel and gasoline. The changes consist of the following: 1. In addition to the inlet valve 5 and outlet valve 6 of the gas distribution system, an additional valve, called by the blower 7, is introduced (fig.1.) which communicates the combustion chamber with the exhaust manifold. 2. The fuel injector shall be adapted to inject both diesel and gasoline into the combustion chamber, or have a dual construction, for both diesel and gasoline injection. 3. In addition the diesel engine must also be equipped with an ignition system, which could be activated when running on petrol. The spark plug could thus be built with two destinations, for starting gas heating and for the production of electric spark in case of gasoline engine operation. |
