The study examined epidemiological characteristics of anterior shoulder dislocations in a mixed rural and urban population of about 95,000. During a period of four years (2004-2007) 288 anterior shoulder dislocations were registered in 249 patients, half men and half women. Recurrent dislocations were excluded from the study. The maximum frequency of dislocations occurred in the 50-70 age group. Injuries occurred in 65.9/100,000 of the general population per year and 87.4/100,000 per year in the adult population. The standard treatment protocol included closed reduction with traction-coutertraction or the Hippocratic technique using intravenous analgesia, followed by immobilization in the Desault bandage (simple or plaster).

Передний вывих плечевой кости чаще всего наблюдался у больных в возрасте от 50 до 70 лет. В 88% случаев, после вправления под общим наркозом, применялась иммобилизация гипсовой повязкой Дезо на 3-4 недели.
