The article proposes the study of the experience of humanitarian interaction between the Republic of Buryatia and the Trans-Baikal Territory with border states such as Mongolia and China at the present stage. The author identifies priority areas of cooperation, such as science and education, tourism and healthcare. The intensification of international cooperation in recent years has been noted. A conclusion is drawn on the importance of including regions in the Far Eastern Federal District as strategically important in the context of relations between Russia and East Asian countries.
