Teza

In the framework of problem of competitive coordination of ambidentate
chelating azomethine ligands [1, 2] we at first have synthesized and
structurally characterized complexes of 4-{1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-thiopyrazol-4-
ylmethylenimino}benzo-15-crown-5 with 3d-metals (I).

Chelates possess tetrahedral environment of metal-center (NMS angle: Ni
– 74.6, Cu – 67.6, Zn – 77.2°).
In accordance with HSAB principle intermediate transition metals are
coordinated with softened N,S-chelating group, and hard water molecule is
bonded with hard crown-ether fragment.
