Often, in the communication process between students, a series of communication barriers appear, the most important of which are: fear of making mistakes, fear of criticism, shyness. Some students have problems with finding the reasons for speaking, formulating relevant opinions or comments; low or uneven participation due to the tendency of others to dominate the group and the inhibition of others; peer pressure. These barriers appear in different groups of students, regardless of the level of communication skills they possess or the number of people in the group. Moreover, each student enters any learning and communication environment with an already formed personality, shaped by previous positive and negative communication experiences. Avoiding or reducing these barriers and problems in the development of communication skills can be organized through the use of active learning methods, strategies and techniques. They promote the intensification of discussions, debates, reflections, role-plays, teamwork, case studies, simulation of communication situations, customization of discussions with shy students, etc. |
