In this article, the issue of the minimum wage in the Republic of Moldova is addressed in relation to the recent changes in some normative acts. Although the first minimum wage regulations date back to 1991, all that has been done in this area is not enough. It is necessary to improve the existing legal framework in order to be consistent with the Minimum Wage Fixing Convention No. 131/1970, especially regarding the developing countries of the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the ILO Minimum Wage Fixing Machinery (Agriculture) Convention No. 99. The author brings up actual proposals regarding the improvement of the legislative framework in this field. |
