Rezumat

During the Soviet era, the arts, including theater, were tightly controlled by the communist government. The Vahtangovian School played a significant role in the development and promotion of theater during this period. This article examines the profound influence of the Vahtangovian School on theaters within the Moldavian SSR, shedding light on how it impacted artistic approaches and the growth of actors and directors. It delves into how the school contributed to the development and promotion of Russian theater within this region, despite the constraints of the Soviet regime. Through a case study of RSS Moldova, we explore the enduring legacy of the Vahtangovian School and its role in shaping the theatrical landscape during a challenging period of political control and artistic expression.
