Confidence is approached by many socio-human disciplines. Therefore, the diversity of perceptions about it. After suggesting its importance for the various aspects of the world in which we live, the author shows that trust is useful, with all its polysemous character, and segments perspectives for understanding him in different dimensions and areas. Although independent of a specific situation, it can change over time because it also depends on the circumstances, but always it remains the “lubricant” at the basis of the functioning of the socio-economic and political system and its efficiency, is the main ingredient in the cement of exchange relations. For some it is faith, expectation, presumption, desire to have “good thoughts”, “good intentions”, for others it is a pre-existing social state, resulting from repeated historically and everyday interactions. The author insists that trust is built during activities, interactions marked by hopes and expectations. The hypothesis of procedural rationality changes the idea of predictability of behaviors, in the sense that each has a margin of autonomy (hopefully a certain predictability of behaviors, but we can never be sure that the other party will respect and apply the same rules) so trust leaves room for limited opportunism ... The reader of this article can find interesting and useful suggestions on how to reduce or increase confidence, confidence during crises, types of confidence, self-confidence, loss of self-confidence, trust and religious beliefs and attachment, connectivity, communion and community, trust and the social bond, trust in strangers, social mechanisms for generating and gaining social trust, trust and: telework, e-commerce, health etc. When trust is in crisis in all its aspects, apathy and indifference can arise. In order not to disappear completely, we could identify the barriers in the way of trust and continue with the common effort to overcome them . |
