Poetry is a component part of the great creation of B. P. Hasdeu, a great cosmopolitan genius. Poetry, as a primary literary dimension, represents a vision. From this point of view, the poet reports poetry to the two main directions: religion and history, which makes the literary prospective oscillate between reality and idealism. B.P. Hasdeu’s poetry must be judged and appreciated through the biographical lens, which leads to the second dimension of Hasdean poetry – the drama, which is born of the poet’s individual destiny, projected against the background of the loss of the beloved being, his daughter, Julia; as well as of the sharing of collective suffering, caused by social disenchantments, by the spirit of time, and by the age of “lie”. It can be asserted with certainty that B.P. Hasdeu has with dignity risen up the encyclopaedic personality scale.
