By mid XIX century Armenian nationalism had already acquired the basic features that are characteristic for him now. At that time they were seen Georgia as the main arena of their activities. The Armenians had a passionate desire to outshine the Georgians and to be seen in Europe. At the same time they were looking for evidence of its superiority, and rewrote its own history. Georgian nationalism as compared with the Armenian maintained a defensive tactic. Armenian nationalism today - is a conscious and purposeful work on preparing the base for future political changes.
