Bioethics presents important point of growing of philosophical knowledge. The forming and development of the bioethics is strongly interconnected with the process of transformation of the traditional ethics as a whole with a medical one in particularly. It is associated first of all with growing attention to the human rights and development of new medical technologies, which lead to the development of very acute problems, demanding juridical and moral regulations.The awareness of the population in Moldova on bioethical issues is on the unsatisfactory level. The Department of philosophy and bioethics (State Medical and Pharmacology University name Testimeteanu) is responsible for teaching of this subject in educational Institutions in Moldova. Professors of this Department also organize national conferences on bioethics, but this is strongly not enough for covering of gaps in the field of development and enlargement of bioethical knowledge in Moldova.Taking into account the importance of the problems associated with bioethics, National Commission for UNESCO in the Republic of Moldova has launched in 2005 a project „Facilitation of the development and enlargement of knowledge in the field of bioethics in the Republic of Moldova”. The partners in implementation of the first phase of the project were the United States Embassy program for access and teaching for Internet, State Medicine and Pharmacology University named Testimeteanu and Center „Intercultural Dialog”.Next events were organized in the frame of the project: (a) launching of the National Center for bioethics in the Republic of Moldova; (b) organizing national poster contest; (c) publishing of the best poster „Bioethics – a bridge to the future”, which was distributed gratis in Moldova (educational Institutions, hospitals, libraries, lyceums, state institutions); (d) prepared for publishing, edited and gratis disseminated a manual on „Elements of bioethics”, where natural, ecological, medical and human rights issues were presented. This manual was prepared in Romanian for the University students; (f) publishing and gratis dissemination in Moldova a set of documents of UNESCO and other International Institutions on bioethical issues; (j) presentation of the manual, set of documents and organizing of the seminar on the base of published materials for University students; (i) designed a web page of the project, where all organized events were included; 8 publishing of the project outcomes in local mass-mediaThus implementation of the project facilitated the process of dissemination and deepening of knowledge in the field of bioethics among the population of the Republic of Moldova, taking into account national and international experience. The target groups of the project were: scientists, professors of the Universities, state employs, medics, jurist, ecologists, students, NGOs and mass media. Relevant bioethical aspects were integrated in special educational programs at the University level. At the same time, real deepening and adaptation of population to the bioethical culture, have to start with acquainting of the people on this issue from the school age. That is why, as a follow up of the previous work, next project proposal was proposed „Promotion and dissemination of the ethics of science and technology with emphasis on bioethics knowledge in the Republic of Moldova”. The goal of the project was - facilitation and dissemination of knowledge on ethics of science and technology with emphasis on bioethics in the Republic of Moldova through introduction of the elements of ethics of science and technology in the educational process (primary schools /1–4 classes/, gymnasiums /5–9 classes/, lyceums /10–12 classes/. Free of charge the publications „Bioethical Aspects in Educational Programs. Additional Materials for the Form Masters, Pedagogical and Management Personnel in Primary and Gymnasium Education” (Romanian version – 3 500 copies, Russian version – 500 copies) and „Bioethics and Education. Additional Materials for the Form Masters, Pedagogical and Management Personnel in Lyceum Education” (Romanian version – 3 000 copies) were printed and disseminated.The Centre „Intercultural Dialogue” and NGO „Speranta’87 Moldova” in cooperation with the National Commission of the Republic of Moldova for UNESCO organized the National Conference for teachers on bioethics issues and the National seminar for members of local Bioethics Committee „Bioethical Aspects of Medical Ethics”; translated in Russian and publish the Guide for teachers „Bioethics and Education. Additional Materials for the Form Masters, Pedagogical and Management Personnel in Lyceum Education” (Russian version – 1 500 copies).
