Rezumat

The aim of the study was to determine the effect of feeding mixed fodders with a high content of corn or barley grains to the young pigs on their productive qualities. The research was carried out in the period from 25.05.2012 till 05.11.2012. In order to conduct it, twenty heads of pigs-analogues were selected, which were divided into two groups. The animals in the first group were fed a fodder with a high content of corn (up to 39% by food value), and the animals in the second group were fed a fodder with a high content of barley (up to 43% by food value). At the initial growing stage the pigs’ live weight in the second experimental group was a little bit higher in comparison with the live weight of the piglets in the first group;the difference was 1.17 kg (P <0.05). However, in the final growing stage there were no significant differences in the live weight of the animals in both groups. The fodder consumption per unit of production in the first group was 4.21 kg, and in the second group – 3.91 kg.
