In the study Life and Deeds of Metropolitan Grigorie Roşca (1478-1570) it is shown that the future hierarch of Moldavia (1546-1551) was brought to the Voroneţ monastery in 1488 where, under the guidance of Daniil Sihastru, he passed the entire cycle of theological studies of the time, receiving monasticism. In 1523 he was named egumen at the Probota monastery in Moldavia, in 1546 he was raised as a metropolitan, and from 1551 until the end of his life he returned to Voroneţ. As a monk, egumen or metropolitan, Grigorie Roşca has carried out a vast activity, initiating church construction with interior and exterior painting, being considered the author of iconographic programs; founded copist schools, came with rich gifts to the Probota and Voroneţ monasteries, enlisting in the history of Moldavian church as one of the most important Romanian hierarchs.
