Rezumat

The article is a research of images of Basarabia and people living there as they are described in journals of foreign writers visited the country after 1918. The author aims to create „portrait-robot” of Romanian-speaking Basarabian/Moldovan living between the Dniester and the Prut and to survey its development in literature . By „portrait-robot” the author means a set of keynotes, a typical image as it’s seen by foreign writers. So the theoretical approach to literary texts under consideration is imagology.

Cuvinte-cheie
imagology, stereotyped images,

“stranger”, comparative literature.
