This article is dedicated to the study of youth organizations in Russia. Author is using two organizations with opposite political orientation as an example. Movement “Nashi” and movement “Oborona” were the most prominent organizations among youth movements in 2005-2007 in Russia. The analyses is undertaken in the context of sociology of management, using organizational life-cycle models of Adizes and Greiner. This kind of sociological analyses helps in determining what stage of the life cycle the youth organization is undergoing and what is to be expected for this organization in the nearest future. In this article the author describes what stages of life cycle have already passed for these organizations, how they were developing and what mistakes were made. In the end the author presents a summary of advantages and disadvantages of this method in analyzing youth organizations.
