The dynamic of global warming during XX and especially in the early XXI century, largely determines the formulation and implementation of national policies related to climate change and its consequences, taking into account national interests. Although, the Republic of Moldova’s land area is small (33483,4 km2), previous investigations have showed that most part of the country surface is „under maximum infl uence of global warming”. Rate of heating helps to establish favourable conditions for the appearance of many invasive species within the territory of the republic, frequent manifestation of droughts, particularly the intensive ones, the thick alternating of antipodal periods „cold-hot” and „wetdry”. All these changes occurred in regional climate system can have a signifi cant infl uence in maintaining ecological and food security in the near future.
