This is a fact that is revealed in his sermons, which I have chosen as landmark in the definition of the Ananian metaphor. Through his oratorical grace, in sermons, metaphors superimpose layers with subtle meanings that generate in the mind of the audience a secondary layer, with ramifications in different fields, that create multiplying anchors of meanings. The manuscripts discovered in the archive of the Nicula Monastery, true sources of inspiration for both clerics and laymen, stand as living testimony to understand how in the personality of the High Metropolitan the hypostasis of the theologian and that of the philologist were complementary.
