Theological education in Romania experienced a period of great limitation during the communist period. After the establishment of this party at the helm of the country, religious education came under the careful supervision of this party. Ever since coming to power, a Security man was infiltrated within the Department of Cults to divulge all the movements that were made within the Church. After 1980, due to the strong onset of the economic crisis, religious education came to a standstill and at the same time the teaching staff were persecuted and punished because of their love for Christ, and the neglect of atheism. |
