Dumitru Matcovschi is first of all a poet of longing, longing understood as a romanian complex deep feeling, mixed with the highest aspirations of humans in the „mioritical space”. Thus there is a longing for life and homeland, longing for people and
language, longing for paternal home and ancestors, longing for woman and nature, longing for truth and justice, longing for what is good and beautiful, longing for kindness and dignity. |
