The paper proposes a few modalities to analyze the culture and education evolution. From this perspective, the paper shows the role of the book in the premodern and modern Romanian society life. For example, the paper presents the educational, diplomatic and identical roles of the Romanian books. All the roles of Romanian books are associated with a different types of books edited between the XVII-XX centuries. For a good presentation, we have analyzed the scientifically literature, the foreign travelers writings, the chronicle of the premodern time.
