The library of the University of Suceava, without false modesty, has excelled in the last years in terms of openness to the community, to cultural institutions, to the city, to people. Despite the years burdened by numerous challenges from all points of view, there were the most successful events with a large and dedicated audience, like a breath of fresh air. Beyond the actual work of a librarian, not easy every day, with insufficient staff, we found the necessary resources to consolidate progress in education, beyond the barriers of reading rooms or home loans. Progress in the library really means, gateways to society, mass media, partnerships with international and national institutions, academic environments, young students, at the beginning of the journey, for whom you can be a mentor, an intelligent strategist, you can change the world through the tool at your disposal: a book. It is our primary role to provide cultural openings. I feel honored to be able to talk to you about the Alma Mater Librorum; International Book Fair, which reached its 7th edition in 2022, in collaboration with the University Success Center and the French Alliance in Suceava, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, with echoes in many corners of the world. The most recent challenge of the Ștefan cel Mare University Library was the organization of the National Conference of the Association of Librarians from Romania, after 22 years, in Suceava. A message I want to dwell on is that of the Director of the Academy of Romania, Rome, Italy, to all Libraries. But above all, to feel blessed with this cultural institution, one of Romania’s 15 cultural centers outside the country’s borders. I wish the ULIM Library to remain the Repairer of Dreams, in which the state of happiness, which Nicolae Dabija left as a legacy, finds its place in each of the Librarians.
