Multilateral extradition treaties and other international legal instruments have
repeatedly established the requirements for extradition and have defined the
conditions for extradition. Although differences still exist in the national regimes
for extradition in similar cases, a number of general principles arising from the
extradition laws, procedures and practices of states, such as the principles of
double criminality and specialty, can be deduced. In the present article, the author Mulyses these principles in the light of international regulations and doctrinal opinions in the field.
