Rezumat

The article presents a brief synthesis of the theory/philosophy of art of postclassics (modernity and postmodernity) in order to elucidate some fundamental aspects, namely the breaking of classical tradition. Gravitating around the questions „Why do we need Academic school in postclassics?”, the article examines the essence, practices, basic concepts, evolutionary-historical and theoretical/philosophical landmarks that Academic School was founded on, as an educational model in the field of fine arts, such as: professionalism, professional rules and norms, traditional academic school, study by nature, predecessors’ example, objective (scientific) knowledge and the concept of „mimesis”. There are examined some ideas of C. Cennini, G. Vasari, E. G. Lessing, J. W. von Goethe, Im. Kant, F. W. J. Schelling, G. W. F. Hegel. In an attempt to find what humanity and artistic-plastic education have lost, detaching themselves from classics and classical tradition, the authors come to the conclusion, that as an emanation of classics, the academy kept the idea of spirituality. And any attempt to deny the spiritual essence of a human makes him gravitate only around his own biological essence, any subjective creation deprived of the experience of the universal order will always be constrained by its own trivial circle.
