The article addresses the issue of emotional intelligence of police employees, but especially the relationship between the level of emotional intelligence and their work performance. The aim of the study was to find the influence of emotional intelligence on the performance of police employees during the period of adaptation to the specifics of the profession. The research sample consisted of 250 young people employed in various departments of the Police. The research results allowed us to ascertain that the degree of emotional intelligence has an important role in the first contact with the police environment. This is important in the further professional evolution of young people, especially during the adaptation period. For a better adaptation it is required that the psychological intervention activities be carried out in stages in an organized framework. |
