Rezumat

Based on the field materials collected by the author, the article considers ritual rounds characteristic for the traditional culture of the local Ukrainian population during the Christmas and New Year holidays. The rounds are made with the aim of exchanging gifts (ходи́ ти з вече́ рою, з пома́ ною), visiting the graves of the ancestors, rounds with church chants (ходи́ ти с кириле́ йсом), house rounds with a kutya on Holy evening; walking with the ‘звіздо́ й’, колядува́ ння; ге́ йкання, ході́ння з плужко́ м, Мала́ нка, Коза́ , щедрува́ ння, посіва́ ння, the ceremony of the first visitor on New Year’s Eve. Analysis of the Christmas and New Year’s rounds of mixed pagan-Christian origin practiced by the Ukrainians of Moldova at the beginning of the 21st century revealed a rich variety of forms of common Ukrainian (носи́ ти вече́ рю, ходи́ ти з звіздо́ ю, колядува́ ти, щедрува́ ти, посіва́ ти e.t.c.), Moldavian-Ukrainian – ходи́ ти з пома́ ною, з звіздо́ ю, ге́ йкати, ходи́ ти з плужко́ м, з Мала́ нкою), as well as local (Трикрай, Нісеніто и др.) traditions. Unique and not recorded by anyone before are the names of the rounds ходи́ ти з кириле́ йсом, as well as the manufacture of де́ ревца / крачка́ with an anthropomorphic figure of a doll – ля́ льки for little godchildren on Holy evening.
