Rezumat

The article examines and defines the concept of non-formal education, which is a complex process of socialization and individualization of the human being, but also its approaches in some western and eastern states. We presented the functions of non-formal education, the basic characteristics and current trends, which are meant to develop individual skills and abilities, to satisfy the various interests and options of the individual.
