The main purpose of the criminal proceeding is to establish the criminal offenses, to identify the deliquent and to determine the appropriate penalty. In order to achieve this and to ensure the presence of the defendant at any time it would be necessary, as well as to prevent the endangering the truth, the criminal investigators can use the preventive measures, and in particular: preventive arrest, arrest at home, release under judicial control and release on bail. In the present piece of work we wanted to show the opportunity of revoking and replacing the preventive arrest with one of the three alternative measures if it can be ascertained that the aim pursued by arrest can be achieved also by applying the other preventive measures.
