Researches on the territory of the gothic settlement of Butuceni were renewed in 2013 in connection with the works on construction of the water-main in the village of Butuceni. Excavations have revealed traces of fortifications from the gothic period and a number of complexes of that time. The analysis of the findings allowed us to answer a number of questions associated with activities of communities in the V-III centuries BC, but at the same time, has highlighted a number of other questions, the answers to which could be offered only as a result of new excavations. Among the key questions after the research from 2013, it should be noted the issues associated with the building of defensive lines, respectively, using techniques facilities of construction, as well as definition of the trajectory of the defensive structures, revealed during the excavations of 2013. Seeking answers to these questions, in the summer of 2014 were laid three trenches, the results of the research of which are presented in this article. Summarizing the text, it should be noted that in the studied segments, traces were found indicating on the erection of fortifications from stone, wood and earth and which represent a segment of the defensive line, which was investigated in 2013.

Исследования на территории гетского городища Бутучень были возобновлены в 2013 году в связи с работами по проведению водопровода в селе Бутучень. Раскопками выявлены следы оборонительного сооружения гетского периода и целый ряд комплексов этого же времени. Анализ находок позволил найти ответ на целый ряд вопросов, связанных с деятельностью местных общностей в V-III вв. до Р.Х., но, в то же время, выдвинул на первый план ряд других вопросов, ответы на которые могли быть предложены лишь в результате новых раскопок. Среди ключевых вопросов, появившихся после исследований 2013 года, надо отметить вопросы, связанные с сооружением оборонительной линии, соответственно – с использованием технических приемов сооружения, а так же – с определением траектории оборонительных сооружений, выявленных в процессе раскопок 2013 года. В поисках ответов на эти вопросы, летом 2014 года были заложены три небольшие траншеи, результаты исследований которых и представлены в этой статье. Резюмируя, надо отметить, что на исследованных участках были найдены следы, указывающие на возведение оборонительного сооружения с использованием камня, дерева и земли, которые представляют собой отрезок оборонительной линии, исследованной в 2013 году.
