Rezumat | ||||||
A few hundred years ago, the auroch lived freely in some mountainous regions of Europe and Asia. Currently, the lofty animal is kept in captivity, in some zoological gardens and natural reservations. The causes for the disappearance of auroch are massive forest clearing, forest exploitation and
illicit activities of poachers. In order to save the species, in European countries, the auroch was declared a unique natural monument being protected by law.
This information, as well as some toponymous historical evidence and arguments on the past habitat and spreading areas of the auroch are exposed in this article. |
