Environmental protection, including by legal means; is essential and a prerequisite for respecting fundamental human rights. As environmental protection is linked to climate change, this global problem has required active and effective collaboration among modern states. Thus, in 2015, the Paris Agreement on climate change was signed. Later, based on the Paris Agreement, on November 28, 2019 the European Parliament adopted a resolution setting the objective of reducing emissions to 55% by 2030, and in June 2021 the EU Parliament adopted the European climate law with the commitment of reaching climate neutrality until in 2050. The legislation of the Republic of Moldova was essentially changed by the transposition of EU legislation in the field of environmental protection, atmospheric air, waste incineration and co-incineration, fluorinated greenhouse gases and chemical substances. |
