The article reflects the scientific and personal positions with reference to intercultural education carried out within educational institutions and being a daily reality, which contributes to the knowledge, development, promotion of traditions, values, interests of representatives of different cultures in various educational contexts. Intercultural education is a means for awareness and formation/development of both general human values (respect, empathy, tolerance, etc.) and those specific to representatives from the multicultural environment. Through the conducted study, the idea of the diversity of intercultural values according to the specifics of the social environment is outlined and the necessity of correlating intercultural values with national ones is found in order to preserve the identity related to the demands of contemporaneity.
