Doina Uricariu’s lyrics are, above all, the testimony of a lucid lyrical con sciousness, for which the precariousness of the world is redeemed in the expressive clarity of the verse, in the word invested with poetics, transfi g ured by the fl ash of metaphor. The lyrics often express a nostalgic perspec tive, in which the dream acquires elegiac words, and the remembrance restores, from fragments of time and life, an existential path not devoid of the aromas of a rhetoric of illusion and mythization of the world, in an evocative lyricism, with melancholy iridescence, discreet and enveloping as a palimpsest of a deceptive past.
