In the article “O Gladsome Light” (Svete tikhiy) and “Nunc dimittis” (Nyne otlushchayeshi) from the All-Night Vigil by D. Hristov: about the problem of the harmonization of the traditional church melodies” the author considers the musical works for Vespers composed by Bulgarian composer for choir. The article investigates the specific features of the Typikon, Biblical text and musical language according to the musical practice of the Eastern Orthodox Churches and especially to the tradition of the Old-Bulgarian church chanting. |
