Rezumat

It is shown possible to use the reaction of reduction of NO3- to NO2- by zinc dust in the presence of MnSO4 catalyst and to determine the NO2- in natural water with the Griss reagent. The effect of various inorganic and organic compounds on the process of reduction and determination of the nitrites which are formed is studied. The sensitivity of determination is 0.015 mg N/liter. The determination error does not exceed 5%.
