Данная статья посвящена проблеме «Л.Н. Толстой и мировая литература». Особый интерес представляет изучение литературных связей великого русского писателя и английской литературы конца XIX – начала XX вв. Поэтому в сравнительнотипологическом аспекте рассматриваются романы Л.Н. Толстого «Воскресение» и Т. Гарди «Тэсс из рода д'Эрбервиллей». Такой подход не случаен, потому что, когда речь идёт о художниках такого масштаба, интересны те объективные черты сходства и различия, которые можно уловить в их взглядах и творчестве.

The present article is dedicated to the problem of „L.N. Tolstoy and World Literature”. The study of literary relations of the great Russian writer and the English literature of the period from the end of the XIX- the beginning of the XX ceturies is of special interest. That is why the novels by L.N. Tolstoy „Resurraction” and T. Hardy „Tess of the D’Urbervilles” are considered in comparative/ typological aspects. Such approach is not accidental, because while analyzing the literary activity of the authors of such a rank, it is always interesting to take into account those pecularities of similarities and differences which can be found in their view points and literary work.

Prezentul articol este consacrat problemei/subiectului „L.N. Tolstoi şi literatura universală”. Un interes aparte prezintă studierea relaţiilor literare ale marelui scriitor rus cu literatura engleză de la sf. sec. al XIX-lea – înc. sec. XX. De aceea sunt analizate sub aspect comparativtipologic romanele Învierea de L.N. Tolstoi şi Tess d’Urbervilles de Th. Hardy. O atare abordare nu este întâmplătoare deoarece atunci când este vorba de artişti de asemenea valoaree, sunt interesante acele trăsături obiective ale asemănării şi deosebirii care pot fi percepute şi în viziunile, şi în creaţiile lor.
