Rezumat

The current study presents a comparative analysis between the aspects of the traditional wood architecture, which includes the architectural buildings built in the rural areas of Romania and the Republic of Moldova and elements of the contemporary architecture in the European context. The traditional wood architecture, in conceptual principles, combines in an organic way the useful, the functional and the aesthetic principles and due to the specificity of the material from which it was created, creates interest for both the professionals and the general public. Modern architecture was influenced by the proportions, the geometric principles, the volumetry and the reports between the constituent parts of the rural constructions that were influenced themselves by the geographical and environmental conditions. Nowhere in the field of construction the organicity of the constructive concept is as visible as in the modern wooden architecture. In the analysis of contemporary architectural plasticity, the essential elements that we must consider are the placement and framing of the construction in the surrounding landscape, the proportionality relations between the component parts of the construction and decoration. From the perspective of these objectives, the research makes an appreciation of the architecture in general, which belongs to both material and spiritual culture. There are provided references to the architectural manifestations of ethnographic culture in the Romanian space with the purpose of highlighting the specific characters but also of the universal elements that have governed the popular creation within this discipline. Everything that has been done was with the purpose of creating an cultural European unity, inherited from ancient cultures that influenced each other. Once addressed all these elements will help to understand to what extent the traditional wooden architecture has connections with the modern one.
