The aim of this paper is to explain how globalisation affects financial markets, particularly those in Eastern Europe. Venture capital market needs strong support in order to help start-ups develop. At the same time it needs support from the government. The main issue in the region is poor governance which is accompanied by poor financial development and low foreign participation. Moreover good governance is valuable when a firm wants to raise capital because it lowers the cost of capital. |
