Human rights are the most fundamental rights of human beings. They define the relationships between individuals and power structures, especially the State. Human rights delimit state power and, at the same time, require States to take positive measures ensuring an environment that enables all people to enjoy their human rights. The right to life is the most fundamental human right and cannot be subjected to derogation even in war time or in states of emergency.Even if there are many national and international regulations, though, none of these texts gives a clear definition of this right. The existing controversies generated many questions regarding the concept of „life”, which in the context of the technical and scientific progress generated a great number of questions regarding the content of the right to life, the „borders” of this right. |
