| Rezumat | ||||||
The present paper is about the the mother archetype as it can be revealed in two of the writings of H. Ch. Andersen. They are entitled The Child in the Grave and The Story of a Mother. According to the Swiss psychiatrist C. G. Jung, an archetype is a collectively-inherited unconscious idea, pattern of thought, image, etc., that is universally present, in individual psyches. In Jungian psychology, archetypes are highly developed elements of the collective unconscious. The existence of archetypes can only be deduced indirectly by using story, art, myths, religions, or dreams. One of the most important is the mother archetype. |
