The article highlights the comparison of the contemporary writers’ works (by Vitaliy and Dmitro Kapranovy) with the same poems, ballads, poems and tales of Taras Shevchenko in order to re-veal intertextual connections. The eye-catching name of the short stories collection “Kobzar 2000” ser-ves as an explicit marker of intertextuality, it confirms the attempt of the brothers to attract readers’ attention to their works, the struggle with the predecessor. The article emphasizes the distinction of newly created texts from the previous ones due to the transformation of Taras Shevchenko's names of famous works. The comparative analysis shows that many stories do not have any direct connection with Kobzar's works of the same name. The prose writers try to attract readers' attention to their stories due to actualization of the names of Shevchenko's works. The intertextuality, explicitly revealed by contemporary Ukrainian prose writers at the heading complex, as well as the system of characters is less likely to confirm attempts at Kobzar revision, updating the range of Shevchenko's themes and problems of works. |
