The phenomenon of manifesting the compensatory mechanisms in children with mental deficiencies is related to "how, under conditions of activity, education and work, new ways can be created and we can make compensatory ones, then on the path of vicarage (of supplementation), then and on the way of restructuring the functional scheme ». Therefore, apart from activities - including in the form of games, learning, work - there can be no compensation, compensation by restructuring the functional schemes.
