The issues of plantation cultivation of stands with participation of Quercus borealis Michx are considered. As a highly productive invasive plant in Ukraine, Northern Oak is particularly strong introducing features of a fast-growing tree species at a young age. It has a significant advantage in terms of accumulation of stem wood in comparison with Quercus robur L., a bit smaller advantage – with Pinus sylvestris L. Northern oak is advisable to grow on limited areas of the forest fund in conditions of fresh and humid types of forest plant conditions in plantations with a short turnover of cuttings. The species is characterized by rapid growth, especially in pure stands (more than 400 m3 1 ha in 45-50 years). There are some positive aspects for the cultivation of northern oak: the availability of a sufficient amount of seed material, the ease of growing seedlings and cultivating the species, and relatively low requirements for forest growing conditions.
